Federal Pell Grant
Unlike a loan, Federal Pell Grants do not have to be repaid. Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree.
A federal student loan for which eligible students and parents borrow directly from the U.S. Department of Education and must be repaid.
Direct Subsidized Loans are loans made to eligible undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need.
Direct Unsubsidized Loans are loans made to eligible undergraduate, the student does not have to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for the loan.
Direct PLUS Loans are loans made to parents of dependent undergraduate students to help pay for education expenses not covered by other financial aid.
Direct Consolidation Loans allow you to combine all of your eligible federal student loans into a single loan with a single loan servicer.
For those who qualify, the amount you receive will depend on your financial need and your cost of attendance. For the 2020-21 award year (July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2022)
