To prevent habitual tardiness, anyone arriving after 10:00 am will not be allowed in class unless they have documentation from their appointment. We encourage students to be in school at least 15 minutes before the start of class in order to have adequate time to set up.
Your attendance in the 1000 hour clock course is measured against a norm:

• Evenings      20.25 hours                                    56 weeks
Students who have missed time will be allowed to make up time without charge during the students scheduled training period.
Students will be allowed to make up a maximum of 10.5 hours a week and must make up the time as they miss it. Make up time is scheduled with the approval of the Director and a record of make up time will be maintained. If a student must attend beyond the scheduled completion date, the additional make up work will be charged to the student at the scheduled make up rate of $8.00 per hour or per your enrollment agreement.
If a student has been in good academic and attendance standing and find themselves with a situation with special circumstances, or prolonged illness, accident, or death in the family may request a leave of absence (LOA) in writing. Forms are available from the Director. LOA's are granted at the discretion of the Director and if granted will be done so in writing. If approved, the student will not accumulate absent hours nor receive credit during the LOA. A LOA consists of a minimum of one week and a maximum of 60 days.
A student is allowed one leave of absence per 12 month period. Students who fail to return after the last day of the leave will be terminated.
Upon return from a LOA the student's retention level will be assessed through one of three means:

The New NACCAS 2003 Job Demand Survey shows that the professional salon industry continues to offer terrific new employment opportunities to qualified job seekers. Based upon a typical 50% commission factor, the average salon income including tips is between $30,000 and $50,000/year.
The salon industry is a job-seekers market. Some 56% of the salon owners reported that they had job openings. 27% of the new hires in 2002 were inexperienced professionals with less than one year's experience. Approximately 3 out of every 4 salon owners who looked for new employees in 2002 reported difficulty in finding qualified personnel. Independent salons and chains are faced with a “zero unemployment” factor. American salons report being short by almost 2 employees.

“Many career opportunities await you including: hairstylist,
color specialist, perm specialist, make up artist, and salon manager.”
